The Future of Eastern Kentucky  d.b.a. TFEK  petitions Google fiber on April, 20th 2015  to expand fiber optic networks to Eastern Kentucky.

On the Google Fiber website  this is asked “ What happens when we’re all connected to a faster network?
A better network enhances opportunities to connect with the things we love. That’s why we're committed to bringing Google Fiber to more people. In 2014, we started working with 34 cities in 9 metro areas across the US to explore building new fiber-optic networks in their communities.”

The Future of Eastern Kentucky invited  Google Fiber  to  consider Eastern Kentucky as part of the Expansion area On 10/26/13 at 22:53:40 pm. The following is the response received

Hello Ray,

Thanks for your enthusiasm about Google Fiber!

We don’t have any immediate plans to launch in Kentucky. However, we will continue to actively explore other opportunities for expanding Google Fiber after our initial launch in Kansas City, Austin and Provo.

Please stay tuned to our Google Fiber blog at http://googlefiberblog.blogspot.com for further updates.

Eastern Kentucky wants and needs Fiber and we want Google Fiber here now!

TFEK is listening to the talk of expansions by S.O.A.R. and the Promise Zone Hype. We want some of the allocated funds for Eastern Kentucky used to benefit all of Eastern KY including our rural areas of each county and not just the favored areas. The expansion of Google Fiber to these areas will not only open Eastern KY up to a world market it will bring new Opportunity to the coalfields.

Google Fiber has the potential to reach 750,000 new customers and unlock many other possibilities. The following are some benefits of Fiber Optic Internet.

1. Security – Fiber is the MOST secure network: for example, it is quite possible to attach to a copper line in order to hack into the system, however, fiber connectivity is made out of glass, and the only way to penetrate the system is to break it, which would cause the whole system to go down and in turn would alert you that you have been hacked – rare disruption of connectivity.

2. Speed – Fiber optic internet runs at the speed of light – the fastest transport medium allowing for quick and instant data retrieval.

3. High Bandwidth – Symmetrical bandwidth (same upload speed as download speed) allowing for much longer transmission distances and high signal rates.

4. Private Connection – No other businesses run off the same line as you, hence a PRIVATE connection.

5. NO Electromagnetic Interference – If and when the fiber optic cables need to be run in close or nearby proximity to electrical machinery (especially ones with high-frequency noises), fiber connectivity allows the control signals to be carried without error or interference, making fiber a number one choice for factory and machinery companies.

 6. Price plans where everyone can afford.
