Hello. Today we published our 2nd newsletter via our View from the Allotment End twitter account. Below is a summary of what we've been up to.

It’s a big day tomorrow for our campaign!  - Please come on down if you’re in the area

We have been encouraging all those who support our cause to get along to our home fixture tomorrow against Farsley Celtic (Saturday 17th November - Kick-off at 3pm). We want to show the owners, the FA and the League that North Ferriby United is a valued and much-loved part of our local football fabric and it should not be franchised. We have been doing lots of promotion. This has included leafleting and putting up posters. Thank you to everyone who helped. It’s an international break this weekend so it would be great to see Hull City AFC fans to lend us their support. Ferriby will go into Saturday’s game on the back of a midweek cup victory against Hall Road Rangers. It may not have been pretty but, as our manager Paul Foot said, “A win’s a win”. We hope that this result brings the squad some confidence. Fingers crossed for Ferriby.

Engaging all stakeholders

The supporters are one of a number of recognised stakeholders that we are engaging with to build the written response. Local authorities are also very important. We are due to discuss the applications with North Ferriby Parish Council at their meeting in a couple of weeks. Also, on the 21st November we will present a question at East Riding of Yorkshire’s Full Council meeting from 2pm to seek their support. In addition, other local clubs could be affected by the proposals if they’re approved. As such, we have written to both Hall Road Rangers and Hull United seeking their input. Finally, we have written to our local MP, David Davis.

Still raising funds for the campaign

Mark Leighton in the club shop will have more of the Save North Ferriby United badges in stock on Saturday. They are also available by post for £1.60 each or £5 for the full set (inc. P&P). More information by e-mailing northferribysc@gmail.com. All profits from will support costs associated to the campaign (i.e. printing etc.).

In the news

We continue to be very grateful for the media interest in our campaign. The BBC’s Matt Dean produced a piece for Look North in which he interviewed Ferriby fans (I was the one in the bobble hat). Ian Herbert from the Daily Mail came over from Manchester to visit the club and interviewed some established fans. It’s a wonderful piece, please do read it. Also, the situation was again discussed on Hull Kingston Radio’s Talking Balls programme (from 29 mins). We were also grateful for today's piece in the Hull Daily Mail by Phil Buckingham.

…..and finally

Thank you to everyone who has sent messages of support and shared memories and photos. It means so much to us. The image for this update was kindly supplied by Debbie English. This is the Ferriby team from the late 1950s. Her father, Mike McCormick, is on the front row on the left. We will tweet out more pictures via the View from the Allotment End Twitter account alongside old Hull Daily Mail snippets that we’ve discovered.

With all best wishes for the weekend. M
