Please help us Save North Ferriby United!

North Ferriby United AFC is a proud community football club with a rich heritage. We rose from the East Riding Church League in 1934 to secure FA Trophy glory in 2015 and promotion to the National League top flight in 2016. Since then we have experienced successive relegations and now play in the Evo-stik Northern Premier League.

Now the owners of North Ferriby United (Carl and Terry Chadwick) have submitted separate applications to change the name of the club to East Hull FC and relocate it to Dunswell Park, 11 miles away. Dunswell belongs to the owner’s best friend and former Ferriby owner, Mr Jamie Waltham.

The FA is leading a consultation on the change of name. This will be considered at the FA Council in 2019. The Northern Premier League will consider the proposed relocation separately. We also understand that the FA will consider the ground-grading of Dunswell.

These proposals, if approved, will mean that North Ferriby United AFC will cease to exist. North Ferriby United has contributed greatly to the local and national footballing scene over the years - with many cup and league successes culminating in the amazing, victorious FA Trophy comeback in 2015. The club has a dedicated fanbase and a youth section that supports over 200 children who play football regularly.

Currently, no statement has been made by the club on the applications.

The FA has initiated a consultation on the name change with stakeholders, including, for example, the North Ferriby United Supporters Club, Supporters’ Direct and the Football Supporters’ Federation. View from the Allotment End, North Ferriby’s independent fanzine, will work to strongly resist this proposal and contribute to these stakeholder responses.

As part of their assessment criteria, the FA will take into account, “the standing of the Club within the game”. This petition seeks provide evidence in support of this.

We are calling all football fans to please sign and share this petition. For example, you may watch us regularly, have celebrated with us at Wembley, enjoyed our pies, “liked” us on social media when we “signed” Neymar, bought our fanzine, seen us on our travels across the UK, played for us or watched us over the years, or are sympathetic is our current plight. We need you now!

In addition to this petition, we will be conducting a separate survey of the North Ferriby United supporters who attend matches and those potentially most directly affected.

The deadline for responses the FA is the 14th December
