14.4% of children in the US are born into poverty without the ability to have a second chance. That is more than 10 million children born without the needed supplies. Due to these issues many of them do not have the abilities or materials to go to college or just succeed in their education. We believe that every child should have an equal chance to thrive to their best of abilities. We are petitioning the Illinois state government to make a law to mandate support check-ins. This will help each school district pay attention to the children and their needs. For example, to see if they have the materials to prosper in their education. If not, the government should provide additional relief and assistance to those who don’t have the same opportunities as others.
