Standardize Women's Clothing Sizes!!!

The Issue

I am a father of 5 beautiful little girls and my oldest is already having image and self-esteem issues because of the fashion and clothing industry. She's an average-sized 10 year old (maybe she's actually a little short for her age), but clothes shopping for her is a NIGHTMARE!

WHY?

Because instead of finding clothes based on her waist and inseam, we have to buy clothes based on some number that may or may not reflect her actual size. What's worse, we can't rely on that number to be the same at every store or even across the same brand!

For example, we recently went school clothes shopping for her, and because of the time of year and the Corona Virus outbreak, waiting to try on a pair of pants would take over an hour. We live two hours away from the nearest shopping centers, so after a long day with her and two of her younger sisters (ages 4 and 3), going from store to store to find acceptable school uniform clothing, we finally found something in her "size" and decided to skip the trying on part and just bought them and drove the two hours home.

When we got home, she tried on her pants and they were too small. She couldn't even get them past her thighs (and she's a little girl). Then, the two "medium" sized shirts that were the same brand and purchased at the same location, had issues. One was too small and the other fit just right.

My 10-year-old little girl broke down and began to cry saying she was getting too fat! This broke my heart and fired up my "papa bear" inside! The new pants were the exact same size pants that she had on when we went shopping, yet somehow were too small! The same shirts, just in different colors and material, fit differently!

IS IT ANY WONDER THAT THE WOMEN OF THE WORLD HAVE BODY ISSUES AND EATING DISORDERS?!

And it only gets worse as they get older! My wife has the same issues! And the number system just drives women to want to be a 0 or 1 (whatever that means)!

Look, all I'm saying is that as long as I know the circumference of my waist and the length of my inseam, I can go virtually anywhere and buy a pair of pants off the rack, without trying them on, and 99% of the time they are going to fit. In fact, I haven't had to try on a pair of pants in I'd say the last 15 years or so. But not so with women's fashion!

IT IS THE FREAKING 21ST CENTURY AND IT IS TIME FOR THIS CRAP TO STOP!!!

I'm calling on the ENTIRETY of the fashion industry to change your ways and just make clothes with the same standards you do for men but labeling them according to length and inseam for pants, and a standard of measurement for shirts.

I get it, women's clothing can be more complicated, but when it comes to basics like pants, shirts, shorts, and underwear, just standardize it. The number system allows designers to create whatever they want and dictate beauty standards that often times are impractical.

GET RID OF THE NUMBER SYSTEM FOR WOMEN'S AND GIRL'S CLOTHING AND PUT A STANDARDIZED SYSTEM BASED ON MEASUREMENTS IN PLACE!

Oh, and while we're on the subject...could you actually make the pockets in women's pants usable?!

Please feel free to add or tag in the comments any other manufacturers or retailers of women's clothing that I didn't already tag.
