When VAR first came about, I could see potential benefits. 

No one likes to feel cheated when a poor decision goes against them and so a way to potentially resolve this had its merits. 

It is clear now the cons clearly outweigh what little pros we may have envisioned. 

English football has become all but unwatchable with a Minority Report-style overbearance infesting every facet of the game. 

Passionate end to end games with blood, sweat and tears have been replaced by men using technology that with their human interaction can never be as accurate as they wish for it to be. 

The problem beforehand was human error and that still remains - much as they'd like you to think otherwise - but now we also have the wrong decisions with constant breaks in play and the previous euphoria of a goal celebration on hold until the set square has been taken out like a GCSE science project. 

Even fans in lower divisions dread what it may do to their leagues. 

We tried, it failed. 

It's time to put this farce behind us.
