The Extermination of Senate Bill 254
The Issue
Hi. My name is Jasper I’m one, of many trans children in Florida and the 21 other states that are actively passing trans laws that are suffering. As I type this, our rights are in favor of being taken away. The state government is actively trying to take us away, and silence our voices. You may have heard about Senate Bill 254 in works of being passed. Senate Bill 254 would change the state’s child custody laws to redefine the provision of transition-related health care to minors as “unjustifiable conduct” and “serious physical harm.” The bill would also effectively legalize parents kidnapping their children for the purposes of “protecting” the child from transition-related healthcare, or even if there was simply reason to believe that the child was “at risk.” If a Florida-based parent removed a child from another parent or moved them from another state to Florida, courts would not be allowed to treat that as “unjustifiable conduct” or child abuse, according to them.us.
So far, this only applies to minors that are actively seeking healthcare, but who knows if this possibility could be opened to legally kidnapping trans children just for existing.
It’s horrible and honestly sad that as children, we have to go through mass trans genocide, which as we know it has progressed from stage 3, to stage 7. It’s absolutely horrifying that I, and among other trans children are watching others make “if I go missing” videos, and considering having to make one themselves.
Please, if you can, sign these petitions, donate, do whatever you can so we can get this petition to the state. They can’t silence our voices, and they sure as hell can’t silence us. I’M TRANS AND I’M PROUD!! I’ll wear my flag with pride, and I’ll go down wearing it. As me, and many others do, we have suffered so much and we won’t let them win. Please share this, spread the word, protest, do anything. Call the white house, call your state governor, email them, do anything. We will come together, and we will win.
