We the undersigned call on the executive of City of York Council to protect the hedge that forms the boundary between Fairway and the former site of Clifton Without Junior School from damage by proposed future housing developments.

This mature and species rich hedgerow is part of an important wildlife corridor that links Clifton Ings to Clifton Backies. This corridor is used by many birds and mammals including hedgehogs which are a critically endangered species.
