Abolish music streaming platforms that dont give artists fair revenue for their work
The Issue
My name's Tony and I'm a musician. I'm also from the west midlands of Great Britain. Great Britain used to be known for leading the way in international music. It used to be known for it's culturally diverse range of generation defining mainstream music and it's challenging, avant-garde underground music. It used to be a colourful world of electrifying things to discover.
Now sadly it is none of those things. The ever tightening grip of monopolising companies on the music distribution industry has become all encompassing and the music industry we all once held aloft above any other facet in our lives has become compromised.
But the answer doesn't solely rest with stopping big money having the monopoly, it rests with every single music lover in our huge, global community.
If I might digress to make a point;
The recent European football super league controversy and the way football fans across the country were able to unite and dismantle the plans before they'd even gotten underway should have made people with functional senses realise that IT IS possible to unite as a passionate group of people to achieve something on that scale. And HOW EASY WAS IT to shutdown the euro super league?
Music fans around the world the power is in YOUR hands to make things right again. We demand music streaming sites, in particular Spotify and iTunes, either pay ALL artists fairly OR face sanctions and even a ban from trading.
Sign this petition and make the music industry fair again!
Thank you
