Not to use Roundup (glyphosate) at Church Bridge in Bruton

The Issue

There are many concerns related to the safety of glyphosate (Roundup), with increasing evidence for its effects on honeybees in particular for whom it is a neurotoxin and endocrine disruptor (Antoniou et al, 2012; Gasnier et al, 2009) which accumulates and persists in treated areas.

Whilst there is less evidence for the effects on mammals from the glyphosate itself, the surfectants used in formulated products have been shown to be dangerous, for example, to dogs and cats eating treated grass (Welch, S. Glyphosate. Clinical Veterinary Toxicology; Plumlee, K. H., Ed.; Mosby: St. Louis, 2004; pp 162-163).

We would like to ask you to find an alternative method for treating the weeds in the area around Church Bridge.
