Mental health professionals to listen to people with did and osdd

The Issue

We want to make dissociative disorders more talked about and understood. We want to educate mental health professionals on why their current thinking is wrong.

We fight everyday. People think we're crazy or dangerous. More often than not, we are dismissed, and then when we go to the internet for help,  they say we looked too into it.

Our world is not accessible to those with a dissociative disorder. It starts by getting mental health professionals to listen.

Dissociative disorders are created by trauma before the age of 9, so when a person says they think they're a system, it shouldn't be brushed off. There are a multitude of comorbitities and complications.

Without proper support, systems could take drastic measures because no one is listening. We hide in fear, and it causes anxiety, depression, su!c!dal thoughts, and self h@rm.

The current view of dissociative disorders is flawed and dangerous. We are ignoring a population that is fragile and larger than you think. Could you imagine telling a depressed person they're faking because they know about depression? No, it doesn't happen. This is a very very common occurrence for people with did and osdd.

We are asking for help because,  while there are a lot of us, we still need your help. Help us to make the world easier and better for your friends and neighbors.
