Mandatory Thyroid Testing for infertility and after a miscarriage. 

1 in 4 women experience the devastation of suffering a miscarriage. The miscarriage often occurs during the first 23 weeks.

1-4 couples are affected by infertility.

Many women might not be aware they have untreated Thyroid conditions which causes infertility and sadly could be the cause of miscarriages and still birth.

Most women do go on to have a pregnancy to full term but could Thyroid issues be the cause of so much heartbreak amongst many women and couples desperate to have a child.

I urgently request the government to introduce mandatory Thyroid Testing as part of infertility, premature birth, miscarriage and stillbirth. 

This is personal, I have been diagnosed with underactive thyroid following contracting Covid.

One night whilst in recovery an individual close to me shared her sad news regarding her 4th miscarriage. It became apparent that at no time before or affer her loss was her Thyroid tested. Looking through the Thyroid symptoms we were both in shock, one of the consequences of untreated thyroid conditions is infertility and during pregnancy are linked to serious problems, including premature birth, miscarriage and stillbirth.
