THE PUERTO RICO DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
We the residents of Puerto Rico, people of Puerto Rican ancestry residing in all parts of the world, and sympathizers do hereby declare ourselves a free people and free sovereign nation.
Just as the United States of America established a sovereign nation and declared itself free from the tyranny of England in 1776, we THE PUERTO RICAN PEOPLE and its sympathizers do hereby proclaim ourselves to be free this 2022 from any and all U.S. laws obligating and controlling THE PUERTO RICAN PEOPLE and our lands in the islands of Puerto Rico.
