For almost 2 years now the immediate family and close friends have placed their trust and belief in the Scottish legal system to provide justice and closure for the tragic killing of the dearly missed George Pope. His estranged wife followed him in her car for 90 feet before striking him from behind, running over his body and killing him. Initially she was charged with causing death by dangerous driving which later got dropped for some unknown reason to death by careless driving! The jury in the case took only 30 minutes to pass a guilty verdict and unanimously agreed that she was the cause of George's death! On the day sentence was imposed for this killing I witnessed Kareen Pope being told not to be upset by the sheriff and told not to worry as he would not be passing a custodial sentence for her crime! In complete disbelief we listened as he imposed the most blatant example of leniency I have ever heard of for taking someone's life, 200 hours community payback and a 3 year disqualification from driving! Now folks ask yourself, is that a fitting punishment for taking the life of a young man with 2 kids and a loving family? Please support our campaign to have this sentence overturned so we can go with all you fair minded people out there with us because without you we simply cannot make a difference.
