Coventry Raining started this petition to The Coventry School Foundation

On Thursday 1st October 2020, it was officially announced by the Coventry Schools Foundation that a merger between two of the oldest schools in the Local Authority of Coventry City.

This decision means both Bablake and King Henry the VIII will both lose their identity and and be lost in the anonymity of the new name ‘Coventry School’.

The new name of ‘Coventry School’ abolishes all history, tradition and reputation that these two fantastic schools have built up over hundreds years. The name ‘Coventry School’ simply portrays lack of thought and disrespect towards the two brands that have worked hard to establish such an honourable image.

Please sign this petition to reject the name ‘Coventry School’ and to retain the amazing identity both schools have. The new name must reflect their history and their joint brand, so their past is never forgotten.
