The original road design had a low level kerbed central divider which was planted out with shrubs.

All that was needed to improve this section was to refresh the shrubs and replant where they had thinned off.

The adjustments to the kerb height and installation of the additional anti-pedestrian fencing added thousands to the project cost. This over-specification should never have been allowed to happen. Where is the incident data to warrant these extreme measures? Residents should have been consulted.
