The Issue

The "Flood control funds" are originally from the taxes that every Filipino pays.

Taxes are supposedly be the government funds for future projects in our country, The Funds are supposed to cover all the project that must be accomplished.

Taxes increase to generate more government revenue to fund public services like healthcare, education, and infrastructure, or to address rising national debt, especially when government spending outpaces revenue from existing tax levels.

This is why the Filipino's are working extra hard because of the increases of their taxes. Since 2024, a series of allegations of corruption, mismanagement, and irregularities in government-funded flood management projects have been occurring in the Philippines under the administration of President Bongbong Marcos

But this 2025, This issue became more alive, and the Citizens of the Philippines had been wondering what is the progress of the project.

Estimates for corruption and economic losses related to flood control projects in the Philippines range from billions to trillions of pesos. An ongoing Senate investigation has uncovered a pattern of "ghost" projects, substandard work, and a monopolization of contracts by a small group of favored firms
