This petetion is important to me because it addresses the major issue of depletion and annihilation of shark species, worldwide. Several states in the US have either prohibited or banned the selling of shark fin products, this is not enough however. My goal is to ban the selling, trade, and shark product posession in America as a whole. Sharks in their entirety can be sold and fins cannot be sold seperatly, but this only cuts out a small chunk of the problem, cruelty. Laws, similar to the act Hawaii recently passed in 2011 are the future and last hope for these wonderful animals. If tracks on shark finning continue children of future generations will not know the beauty and majesty of a shark. Each year 80+ Million sharks are killed, and because of this several shark species have been completely decimated. Join me in the fight to preserve marine wild life, and stop the shark finning and trade.
