Thou dislikes feudalism whilst ye toil on thy lords land?

Feudalism is a system that has lasted over a thousand years, a thousand years of total prosperity for the commoners and lords alike. Today we live in a form of semi-feudalism, however instead of the Barons and Counts of the past we live under the influence of the wealthy. We here in the Feudalist Party of America wish to take this and run with it, transforming those worthy of lordship into nobility.

The system: Under our system, local City Councils control the affairs of their local municipalities and these people are voted in through direct vote by the people of those cities. Above this will be the Barons, who control the overall affairs of local cities 'Baronies' and may institute their policy is law within their Baronies. Today's congress representatives will then become tomorrows Counts, taking control of multiple Baronies, forming a 'County'. Senators will take the role of Dukes, each Duke dealing with the political affairs and situations between the Counts. Above the Duke will sit the Emperor, all Dukes will be direct vassals of the Emperor and must assist when called upon by the Emperor.

Taxes: Under such a system there will no longer be Federal taxes, nor will thy commoners pay taxes to the Duke or Count. The only taxes that are to be paid are those to the Baron in which they live under and whatever taxes he/she may impose.

Representation: The commoners will be represented by their Feudal overlords within the 'Landsraad' which will comprise of all the Major and Minor houses within the country. Each lord shall receive votes equal to his/her title and overall power and or importance. 

Laws: For the commoners, laws will be set by either the local City Councils and the Baron, however the Barons laws take more importance over the laws set forth by the councils.
