We, the citizens of Bowling Green and Warren County, Kentucky, petition against the removal of Lock and Dam #1 located at the end of Greencastle Road in Richardsville.  Greencastle Lock and Dam #1 was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and needs to be kept in place due to the rich history of this Lock and Dam.  Keeping the dam will help maintain an adequate drinking water supply, protect wildlife and maintain recreational opportunities.  We want the Army Corp of Engineers, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and Warren County to preserve the Lock and Dam and fully fund any repairs that are needed.
