On March 11, we met with Alderman Cappleman. While he agreed the community meetings, surveys, and petition show overwhelming support for the community center renovation, he’s waiting to see the February Chicago Park District survey results. Alderman Cappleman has reached out to the CPD, but they’ve not yet given him a date when the survey results will be completed. He’s asked the community to contact the Chicago Park District, then he will send a letter to the Park District to show his support, too.

I am asking you to begin the Clarendon Park Community Center Renovation! As stated in the Save-Clarendon Park Petition and signed by 3000 park patrons, I ask you and the Chicago Park District to conduct a phased renovation of the Clarendon Park’s historic community center building in a way that fully reflects and supports the park’s existing programming and people. 
 
I encourage you to take action on the community’s unwavering request to renovate the community center by wisely using the $6.1 million to initiate the phased renovation project now.
