Despite locals of saint peters walk, Melton Mowbray calling the RSPCA numerous times between November to present date about their concerns over the welfare of many animals owned by a woman in their street, the RSPCA time and again failed every single animal in the woman's house, every single time they walked away.

It was only when  the subsidory group (Band of Hope) of our charity Action Aid for Animals were called and the volunteers local to the area entered the property was it realised the full devastation of what had been allowed to happen was ladi bare. The end result as you will see from the photos and videos our volunteers took at the scene are utterly sickening. Dogs, cats, puppies, reptiles..All dead. from starvation and goodness knows what. The one thing that is clear is it is not just the woman in this house that caused the death of these poor animals, but also the lack of action by the RSPCA. Only AFTER the fact of these poor animals suffering the most slow and agonising deaths, surrounded by utter squalor are the RSPCA actually taking action against the woman!!

We would suggest that what is clear, it is not just the woman who caused the needless death of these animals to be investigated but also the RSPCA by its choice to NOT act on various occasions over the last few months also aided the cruel and agonising death of all the animals in that house!

We can blame the woman most certainly in these animals deaths, but what part of this sad story did the RSPCA have to play in this?

No doubt when/if this case is seen before the court the woman will be or at the least should be charged with neglect, causing unnecessary suffering and of course cruelty to animals. What is farcical in this, is that the RSPCA will be bringing these charges against the woman, when they themselves surely by NOT taking action the first, second, third , fourth and fifth time they visited the property (most recently just a few weeks ago) failed to take these animals away from her.

The condition of the animals, the squalor around the home is not recent, this has happened over a period of time, most certainly the RSPCA would have noticed the condition of the animals, the squalor within the many visits to the property over the last few months....Yet NO action was taken, not until it was too late!!!

It could be suggested that this is becoming a reoccurring theme for the RSPCA. Waiting until the point they can prosecute rather than concerning themselves with the welfare of the animals rather than leaving it to the point they can prosecute.

The RSPCA in our view should be investigated for their actions or rather lack of actions in all this.

The animals in this house suffered horrific, slow and painful deaths, it is not right that the leading animal welfare charity will not be held to task for their part they played in all this.

We Action Aid for Animals and those that have signed this petition strongly urge Leicestershire Police and the Charity Commission to investigate the RSPCA's involvement in this matter and their neglectful actions that failed to save these innocent animals despite many opportunities to do this.

NO ONE should be above the law, yet it would seem the RSPCA are/have become and untouchable force. When the enforcers of the law ( our police force) rely on the RSPCA to do what they are meant to do, there is a danger as can be seen with this case and many others, that the RSPCA itself are beyond retribution of the same laws that govern the rest of society.

Please sign and share this petition, animal cruelty comes in many forms, neglect comes in many forms. But the one common thread that remains the same is no matter what part a person or group has played in an animals suffering or death....The animals are the victims and they deserve justice!!
