Almost 100 years ago, a special commission decided to put animals on Irish coins to bring joy to everyone who saw them.

When the euro was introduced, we lost the animals and put the harp on all our coins.

We are calling on the Central Bank of Ireland and its governor Gabriel Makhlouf to put the animals on the Irish euro coins.

Let's let our coinage show wonderful Irish animals once again, and put a little bit of joy in people's pockets, for Irish people and our European neighbours.
