Rename the Bayshore Senior Center after the late Sister Elizabeth Garvey, RSM

The Issue

The late Sister Elizabeth Garvey (8/27/12) was a Sister of Mercy in Keansburg and a major force in the upgrades to the Bayshore Senior Center, to the state of the art facility which exists today.

Entering the Sisters of Mercy in 1950, Sister Elizabeth welcomed the opportunity to serve God's people first in the ministry of education as teacher and principal. For 28 years she served as teacher or principal in the NJ dioceses of Camden, Metuchen and Trenton as well as in Portland, Maine.

Her greatest joy came in the last 31 years working with senior citizens as the director of the Bayshore Senior Day Center, Keansburg, NJ and living with her sisters in Mercy at Saint Ann's Convent.
