The Los Angeles Unified School District plans to close 11 Adult Occupational Centers. The new budget goes before the school board on FEBRUARY 14. In this new budget there are no funds budgeted for adult education.

This will be devastating to the Southern California Community. It will not only put thousands of people out of work but it will cut short the education and re-training of thousands more of whom are trying to get back on track during these hard economic times.
The students are made up of a variety of peoples with various backgrounds. People who are from low income families who are trying to better themselves so that they can be part of rebuilding our economy and people that have had higher education whom are now needing to change careers because of the dramatic changes in their prior fields.
The Adult Occupational Centers give a ray of hope during these hard times. Please help in stopping this terrible wrong.
