Hey Warriors!

You signed the Bloom Safe petition because you believe America can do more to protect children from sexual abuse. While we continue working to secure a congressional sponsor for the BLOOM SAFE: MAKE AMERICA THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE A KID ACT, we are also taking practical action right now.

Bloom Safe and The Mama Bear Effect are hosting a free virtual Back to School Children’s Book Author Panel, and you are invited.

FREE VIRTUAL EVENT

Thursday, August 20, 2026  |  7:00 p.m. ET  |  Live on Zoom

Free and open to all. Advance registration is required.

TO REGISTER: https://tinyurl.com/BloomSafe

The event is open to everyone, with a special focus on parents, educators, teachers, school staff, administrators and other adults who care for children. Our goal is to help safe adults discover age-appropriate books that can support conversations about body safety, bodily autonomy, consent, boundaries, appropriate touch, grooming behaviors and trusted adults.

This discussion is especially timely following the U.S. Secretary of Education’s July 10, 2026, Dear Colleague Letter on protecting students from sexual misconduct by adults in positions of authority. The letter reiterates schools’ legal obligations under federal law. Our panel will focus on a complementary part of prevention: giving parents and educators practical, age-appropriate tools for starting conversations with children.

Meet the authors

  • Adrianne Simeone, founder of The Mama Bear Effect and author of My Body is Special and Private and Let’s Talk About Secrets
  • Diane Tarantini, author of The Brave Knight and a public-school body-safety educator
  • Kimberly King, best-selling author of I Said No! and Body Safety for Young Children
  • Patrice Griffin, founder of Patrice’s Kids Inc. and author of My Body Safety Coloring Book
  • Steve Simons, founder of Bloom Safe and author of My Body Is For Myself

Donna Bulatowicz, Ph.D., will moderate the panel, and Natalie Moon of The Mama Bear Effect will facilitate the discussion and audience Q&A.

Please take two actions today:

  1. Register at tinyurl.com/BloomSafe so Zoom can send you the meeting link.
  2. Forward this update to at least five parents, teachers, school staff members, administrators, coaches, faith leaders or other safe adults who should be part of this conversation.

You can also follow @bloom_safe and @mamabeareffect on Instagram and share the event post.

Bloom Safe’s first two pillars are age-appropriate prevention education for children and effective training for the adults who care for them. This event puts those principles into action. It brings informed adults together, equips them with practical resources and helps make body safety an ordinary part of caring for children.

Every voice counts. Every safe adult matters. Every conversation can help build a culture in which children are protected, respected and believed.

Thank you for continuing to stand with us.

Yours in the work to defend our next generation,

Steve Simons
