Fairmont Windsor Park hotel Real Living Wage campaign

The Issue

The Savill Court Hotel in Englefield Green, Surrey, was purchased by the Arora Group. It is due to open in 2020, with its name being changed to the Fairmont Windsor Park hotel.

Mr Arora is Chairman, Founder and 100% shareholder.

In May 2019, following a revaluation of his hotels, The Sunday Times Rich List estimated his net worth to be £1.129 billion. In 2013 it was £356 million.

In 2018 alone, the Arora Group made an operating profit of £42.9 million according to the Sunday Times.

This petition is aimed at getting Mr Arora to pay his lowest paid employees (including all agency staff) the real Living Wage (currently £9.30/hr outside of London) at their 5* hotel in Englefield Green. This figure is independently-calculated based on what people need to get by.

On the company website Mr Arora states: "we treat...our staff like family."

I doubt he would be happy for his family to receive poverty pay given the links between poverty and crime, family breakdown, and child truancy, all of which have been covered in the press.

It's been stated that up to 150 new jobs will be ring fenced for TW20 residents. LOCAL PEOPLE DESERVE FAIR PAY.
