Arizona Governor Janice K. Brewer recently sweapt $50 million dollars from the wrongful foreclosure settlement fund that was awarded to the state of Arizona. Governor Brewer has Foreclosed on Arizona Homeowners and, intends to utilize the $50 million dollars from the wrongful foreclosure settlement funds to expand and fortify the private prison industry here in Arizona. The settlement fund was aquired by Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne and, is supposed to be allocated to Arizona Homeowners who have been the victims of predetory lending practices, wrongful and fraudulent foreclosures which were perpetrated on them by the "Big Five Banks".

Even though the big five banks have admitted to shoddy foreclosure practices, many foreclosed homeowners in the state of Arizona are being subjected to Arizona Revised Statute A.R.S. 33-811(c) which, prevents a homeowner from raising post trustee's sale claims for the tort of wrongful foreclosure.

 Homeowners in Arizona already have little recourse for fraudulent foreclosures and few laws to protect them.  Brewer's sweep of the settlement funds is irresponsible and places private prisons above Arizona's citizens and families.  Please, help us obtain justice for wrongfully forclosed homeowners and, hold financial institutions accountable.
