SAHECO NEEDS A CHANGE OF PRINCIPAL

SAHECO NEEDS A CHANGE OF PRINCIPAL
The Issue
To The Archbishop Of Bamenda
Reverend Fr. Michael Kintang has been principal of our beloved Sacred Heart College (SAHECO), Mankon since 2007 making him the longest serving principal since the college was handed over to the Archdiocese of Bamenda.
His tenure, marked by undeniable academic success, has not been without controversy. Notably, his strained relationship with a cross section of the alumni, which has expressed deep concerns over the completion of the Golden Jubilee project - the Multipurpose auditorium.
Considering his duration as head of this establishment, and our believe in alternance at the helm of institutions, several ex-students of SAHECO and well wishers have decided to pen this missive to the Archbishop of Bamenda, Mgr Andrew Nkea, to reconsider the position of Fr. Michael Kintang as principal of our beloved Sacred Heart College, Mankon. We are grateful for his service as principal and exhort him to pass on the leadership baton. Thus, leading by example.
Your Lordship (proprietor), we pray your office considers this petition on the grounds that many SHESANS globally, as evidenced in the number of signatures, are discontented with the transformation of SAHECO in recent times. Many of us can no longer identify with this institution wherein we spent some of the most enjoyable years of our lives and are often very less enthusiastic about supporting the institution especially financially. Extracurricular activities such as socials and sports have been relegated to the background in preference of an excessively academic-focused approach which isn’t necessarily yielding fruits when you consider the fact that 100% in Ordinary and Advanced Levels is no longer guaranteed.
WE therefore plead with you to appoint a another (preferably younger) member of the clergy as principal of the college, who will strive to rebuild a good relationship with the alumni, and reinstitute those “little invaluable things” that made SAHECO what it was.
Accept Your Lordship, our most sincere regards
