A petition asking the SCOTUS to make objective decisions regarding the 2020 Election
Why this petition matters
In 1787, the Three-fifths Compromise was written into the constitution. Delegates disputed whether and how slaves would be counted when determining a state's total population, as this number would determine a state's number of seats in the House of Representatives and how much it would pay in taxes. The compromise counted three out of every five slaves as people, giving the Southern states a third more seats in Congress and a third more electoral votes than if slaves had been ignored, but fewer than if slaves and free people had been counted equally.
It should be clear for everyone that our democracy is built on negotiation, to the extent that every portion of our juridical system has become politicized. The fact that members of the Supreme Court of the United States are chosen by the sitting president, opens up for corruption. Not even our highest legal institution can avoid being biased. Or can it?
This petition asks for the SCOTUS to make objective decisions regarding the 2020 Election, regardless of which political parties the decision's benefit. Our democracy is on the line.
