Make classes pass/fail for Abington Heights High School's Class of 2020

Make classes pass/fail for Abington Heights High School's Class of 2020
The Issue
For the past 12 years, the Class of 2020 has looked forward to their final year of high school and all the rites of passage included with it, such as senior prom, senior rec day, throwing graduation caps in the air, and even seeing friends and teachers for the last time. Because of the recent outbreak of coronavirus, all of these milestones that seniors have looked forward to for years have been taken away seemingly overnight, and with Governor Wolf's recent announcement about the permanent disbandment of schools for the rest of the year, seniors are more upset than ever before. Along with this immense sadness that the Class of 2020 shares, the chaotic and unconventional switch to online schooling has only loaded seniors with more unnecessary stress. At this point in the school year, almost all seniors have an action plan regarding the next few years of their lives, such as a commitment to college, trade school, or a job after high school. Therefore, the Class of 2020 asks that because we have essentially completed high school, and have plans for our future already set in motion, that the next stage of online learning be made pass/fail. This would alleviate stress, allow seniors to enjoy the limited time they have left while still engaging in classes, and make for an easier transition into online school during this tumultuous time. Please help the Class of 2020 achieve this goal by signing this petition, many thanks.
