Why this petition matters

Tech Esports Association has had one of its worst semesters ever due to the Executive board put into place for Fall 2019 and Spring 2020. Bringing down the name of the gaming community and the competitive scene at Texas Tech. #LetsDoBetter

Tech Esports Association is a place for members of the Texas Tech community and student board to come together and compete in a collegiate esport space. After being promised countless things, such as a safe hate-free environment, bias-free rules and treatment, and a lot more fallen through promises. Tech Esports Association's Executive Board has failed to take action against the racist video posted and multiple members that broke the rules following this incident. They have promised countless times to do so only to ignore it and say "I feel bad for banning them" and "It's not our biggest priority". They have also failed to conform to the Title IX rules and procedures on more then one account.

Tech Esports Association's Executive Board also has been found guilty of many forms of homophobic and transphobic speech and actions against members. They also fail to carry out punish those who do this as well. Tech Esports Association also has sent various people to spy on others for the benefit of themselves. They clearly violate others privacy and free-speech. After Tech Esports Association's Executive Board's power hungry motives to take over countless clubs, bully those who want to expand, and to harass people that do not agree with them, it's time for a change. Tech Esports Association can and will do better under new power.

The goal of this is 500 signatures. With this we can take this to their faculty advisor, rec sports, and many other officials within Texas Tech to get a change in power at Tech Esports Association. The goal is to remove the seven (7) current officers at Tech Esports Association and for the community to vote in new officer that will reform the club into what it was meant to be all along.
