Every decision an interior designer makes in one way or another affects the health, safety and welfare of the public. Those decisions include specifying furniture, fabrics and carpeting that comply with fire codes and space planning that provides proper means of egress. Additionally, interior designers deal with accessibility issues, ergonomics, lighting, acoustics and design solutions for those with special needs. The professional interior designer is qualified by education, experience and examination to enhance the safety, function, and quality of interior spaces.

Registered Interior Designers do not cost the state of Texas any money, in fact the state of Texas collects over a million dollars a year in General Revenue.

Our registration is strictly voluntary for those that meet state requirements and wish to be registered.

The state of Texas adopted the International Building Code. The International Building Code defines a Design Professional as one who is registered by their state. It is this law and our registration that enables us to seal our drawings.
