All pets in Texas are subject to abuse, cruelty, or malpractice by the veterinarians who are entrusted with their care.  Throughout Texas, law enforcement will not act on complaints against DVMs.  And, District Attorneys will not act on cases that are not referred by law enforcement.  The ONLY recourse is TBVME, and this Board has repeatedly protected the DVM, not the pet.  DVMs comprise 2/3 of the board & 1/3 is not representative of the average pet owner.

Please give our pets a voice and ask the Sunset Commission to abolish the TBVME, form a new agency with board members who represent pet companion owners, and encourage new legislation that will prevent widespread abuse by DVMs.  Help keep the good DVMs and remove the bad, like the one who shot an innocent little cat named Tiger in the head with a bow & arrow.  TBVME has failed to take action now for months and has not revoked the license as of this writing.
