In the State of Texas under Domestic Violence definitions, only physical abuse is recognized not psychological, emotional or financial abuse.  An individual can only get a restraining order in cases that involve physical abuse. 

The impact of psychological abuse which can include harassment, verbal abuse, threats and manipulation of an adult or child is very harmful and can lead to PTSD or other crippling mental health disorders.

By adding these types of abuse under Domestic violence statutes, it empowers individuals to be free to live a healthy life and will prevent abusers from thinking that they can mercilessly victimize others.

We need anti-bullying and harassment laws to help the silent victims.
