Currently, Texas law states that sex education in public schools must have an abstience-only curriculum. Studies have shown that a comprehensive sex education lowers STI and teen pregnancy rates and it more successful in preparing youth for a healthy sex life. This petition is to support an amendment made to the Texas Health & Saftey Code Chapter 163 to include comprehensive sex education in Texas public schools.
