Recent rapid delta variance increase with no sign of of a plateau coming in the next few weeks raised concerns to many parents, especially kids under 12-year-old with no vaccine protection. We see daily average of 200 hospitalization in Texas Medical Center hospitals in the past seven days. More than 90 percent of the hospitalization cases related to unvaccinated population. Delta is 50-60% more transmissible compared to the previous COVID variants. We respectfully request Texas Education Agency (TEA) to revise its guidance and provide online learning options to schools:

1. With all students returning to school at one time, it it impossible to keep social distance. 

2. We understand that TEA provided safety guidance to schools but it adds burden to school teachers and staffs to enforce these procedures.

3. All kids six grade or under are not vaccinated. 

We respectively request TEA:

1.Provide online learning options to all Texas schools so that kids do not crow school at one time; and/or 

2. Delay school start dates until the situation stabilizes or shows sign of stabilization. Some school district starts school as early as second week of August. 

3. Continue enforcing indoor masks and social distance
