The Issue

Despite our local secondary school having a favourable Ofsted inspection, it has become increasingly apparent that the education our children are receiving is not up to standard. As a community, we are deeply concerned about the unsafe and poorly managed environment in which our children are forced to learn. This situation has reached a critical point, with teachers striking and parents united in their demand for immediate and radical change.

The school, run by the CLF and its current management, has continuously failed to address crucial issues regarding behaviour management among students. This failure not only disrupts the educational process but also places a strain on the mental health of our children, families, and the community as a whole. The environment is evidently not fit for purpose, leading to widespread dissatisfaction, anxiety, and mental anguish.

Our children deserve a safe, nurturing, and well-managed environment where they can thrive intellectually and emotionally. Currently, the reality is far from this ideal. The striking educators and concerned parents have a unified voice in this matter: there is an urgent need for the removal of the current head and establishment of a transparent voting procedure for parental no-confidence in the current management.

It is essential that leadership within the school is held accountable and that a new management team, responsive to the needs and insights of both parents and teachers, is instated. A significant overhaul is required to restore faith in the institution and recruit leadership that is genuinely attuned to the educational and behavioural policies that promote a positive school climate.

Through this petition, we call upon the relevant authorities to take immediate action. Implementing these changes will ensure that the school operates in a manner consistent with the values of safety, accountability, and high educational standards. Our children must return to a school environment conducive to their growth and learning, not ridden with turmoil and inefficacy.

We urge you to sign this petition to demand enforced changes in the management and operation of our local secondary school. Your support is vital in advocating for an educational setting worthy of our children’s potential.
