In August of 2020 Teva Pharmaceuticals placed the medication Nefazodone in shortage.  Nefazodone is a one of a kind medication that is used to treat anxiety and depression.  For many people this is the only medication that they can tolerate or that works to relieve their symptoms.  Most of us found out it was in shortage when we went to pick up our refills and found out it wasn't available anywhere.  This meant many people were not able to properly wean off the medication and have had horrible withdrawal symptoms.  Nor did this leave any time to try to find an alternative medication.  Many people have still not found an alternative medication and are suffering greatly from their mental illness.  

In the past year many of us have contacted Teva and been given the same response that it is not discontinued, but they don't even have a return date for the medication.  They insist that it is an ingredient shortage, but this is met with skepticism as we have been told it is due to the pandemic which was later confirmed not to be true.  During the past year Teva has not even issued a press release on the medication's status.  They have taken patient's contact info, but have not provided any updates.  The only update from them was their email about the shortage changed a couple months ago saying there would be an update in a few months, but customer service has not given us any new news.  People have contacted the FDA and they have informed us it should be back by years end, but Teva will not confirm this either.  

There are thousands of people suffering greatly without their medication, and at no less at the time of a pandemic.  Teva needs to immediately start making this medication and communicate with patients when it will be available to them again.  Sign this petition to support all of those who are suffering from Teva not making an effective medication that has helped so many treat their mental illness.
