When I reserved a Model 3 in 2016, I did so knowing Tesla was committed to environmental sustainability. I was very pleased to know that they offered non-leather upholstery, however, I was shocked and disappointed to learn that Tesla vehicles still had leather-wrapped steering wheels. I understand that the reasoning behind this is that non-leather steering wheels are not as durable.

I had a bit of hope, however, learning that owners of Models S and X could request a non-leather steering wheel. Unfortunately, this does not currently appear to be an option for Model 3.

Tesla, please provide an option for a non-leather steering wheel. This does not need to be a case-by-case solution. Even being able to opt into a timed batch of steering wheels would be helpful. Given the scale of Model 3 production, demand for a leather-free option could be greater. I and other animal lovers would appreciate this greatly. Thank you.
