Paula Reid, acting on behalf of CBS News, went into a gun store in Virginia. She lied to the store owner and purchased an AR15. She told the store employees that she was purchasing the weapon so that she could receive training from a certified firearms trainer. The store confirmed that she was buying the weapon for her own personal use, as required by Federal Law. She was required to meet all Federal Laws, including a background check and providing numerous forms of identification. Following the completion of the fraudulent and deceitful purchase, she gave the weapon to a third party. This is known as a straw purchase. It is also against the law to be dishonest while purchasing a firearm. Paula Reid should be held responsible for violating the law, like any other citizen. Illegal handling of a firearm is not acceptable. And as gun owners of this great nation, we demand that all firearms law violations be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Do your jobs and see to it that Paula Reid, and any party that assisted her with this crime, is charged for this firearms related crime!
