PLEASE DENY COMMUTATION REQUEST OF ATWELL CONNER, JR.

PLEASE DENY COMMUTATION REQUEST OF ATWELL CONNER, JR.
The Issue
Mike Servey and Maureen Connolly were brutally murdered in 1974. One of the criminals, Atwell Conner claims he was forced to participate in the crimes. The evidence shows something very different. HELP US PREVENT CONVICTED CRIMINAL ATWELL CONNER FROM COMMUTING HIS SENTENCE OF LIFE W/O PAROLE. THANK YOU.
The family of Michael Servey respectfully states:
1. Atwell Conner failed to disassociate himself from criminal Nowlin;
2. Conner provided a shotgun to use in the crimes;
3. Conner failed to stop the preparation of weapons to commit the crimes (the sawing- off of his personal shotgun);
4. Conner failed to stop the test- fire of the sawed-off shotgun;
5. Conner spent hours driving around with Nowlin looking for victims;
6. Conner failed to stop the kidnappings;
7. Conner failed to stop the robbery;
8. Conner held Michael at gunpoint;
9. Conner failed to stop the rape;
10. Conner failed to stop the brutal beatings;
11. Conner failed to protect either victim in any respect;
12. Conner helped hide some of the evidence after the crimes;
13. Conner failed to alleviate the suffering of the victims’ families by notifying authorities after the murders occurred. (The teens’ bodies were found about a week later);
14. Conner admitted to police his participation in the events leading to the death of Michael Servey and Maureen Connolly;
Now Conner maintains his innocence, claiming he was forced to participate in the crime at gunpoint by Nowlin and feared for his life. He also said Nowlin threatened to kill his family if he didn’t participate. Conner had his own gun! There is no way Nowlin subdued Mike alone. Mike had recently been in The Air Force Academy and was a brawny young man. We respectfully request Governor Branstad and Iowa Parole Board members to note the inconsistencies in Conner’s testimony. He COULD have interceded and helped the victims. He had many opportunities to assist the victims / remove himself from the situation.
This was not a manslaughter charge, or a situation of time served to pay a societal debt. This is a double homicide case.
PLEASE DENY COMMUTATION REQUEST
Thank you for your time.
