Save the tiger at Terra Natura Animal Park. Benidorm, Spain

Save the tiger at Terra Natura Animal Park. Benidorm, Spain
The Issue
On Saturday 2nd July, a worker at the Terra Natura animal park close to Benidorm, Spain was killed in a tragic accident whilst working in the tiger enclosure.
I am sure everyone reading this agrees that it is a terrible thing to have happened and send their condolences to the friends and family of the deceased carer.
Unfortunately what was already a sad event, has now been magnified by the fact the judicial court is to decide the fate of the animal, which could possibly result in the tiger’s death.
Reports say the carer had not closed the safety gate correctly, which allowed the animal to go through to where she was working. (The park have not confirmed this, so I am not sure if this is true.)
The tiger did not act in any other way than you would expect a dangerous, wild animal to. It would have made no difference whether he was in the wild or in an enclosure like the one he had been placed in for so many years at the park, he would have acted in the same way, which makes the notion that it was the tiger’s fault and he should be put down, so ridiculous.
There are only around 2.500 Bengal Tigers in the wild and if they are being kept in zoos, then it is up to them to ensure they do not contribute to the decline of these wonderful creatures. I’m sure the lady who I believe had been working at the park for 8 years and caring for the tigers for the past 6 months would not have wished for any harm to come to this animal either.
I have been in contact with a member of staff from the park who is requesting all the help they can get to convince the courts this animal should not to be harmed.
I would like to ask you to sign and share this petition, which will be sent to Terra Natura so that they present it to the court before any final decision is made. Whether you agree with animals in captivity or not, I'm sure you will agree the most important thing here is to save an endangered animal from being killed.
I am not sure how many days they have to decide, so the more signatures we can get quickly, the better.
Thank you for your help.
