Terminate Vice Principal Juan Escamilla's Tenure at Cajon High School

The Issue

It has become an urgent matter of great concern for students and teachers at Cajon High School; the tenure of our current Vice Principal, Juan Escamilla. Since he took up this position, our school has experienced significant changes, not for the better but for the worse. His leadership style is founded on intimidation rather than motivation, pushing away the very people he should be bringing together. Our children, the future of this world, are facing an environment filled with fear and unease.

The harmful effects of such an approach cannot be understated. A report by the American Psychological Association found that students who feel safe and supported learn and grow better acadically and mentally. His tactics are pushing away a generation of students who crave connection with their educators, not fear-instilled domination.

Hence, we appeal to the school board that this situation cannot persist. A school should be a haven of learning, innovation, and growth, not a place where students fear to tread. For too long now, the school community - students, teache, and parents - have voiced their concern regarding his approach to education. This is not only about one vice principal; this is about securing better learning environments for our students, and effective working conditions for our teachers. Not only this, but he is big for assumptions. He has assumed and gotten children in trouble cause he “thinks” they may be causing trouble. When students are simply walking to class.

Let us prioritize our children and their education over maintaining a detrimental status quo. We urge you to reconsider Juan Escamilla's position as Vice Principal of Cajone High School. The future of our school, our children, and our community is at stake. Please, sign this petition today.
