Murdering innocent people. The catastrophic journey of overcoming adversity, only to be thrust back into a hellish cycle, is the story I share with you today. I am a survivor, not only of a disabling condition that once presented a massive barrier to my success. But also of an atrocious act where my art, my essence, was stolen and used as a tool for intimidation, manipulation and abuse. A snuff video, a symbol of utmost vileness, is being used to blackmail me, marking a new low in my experience with human cruelty.

Out there, my story is mirrored in many lives, in many forms, but predominantly staged in a coordinated form of railway trafficking conducted by insidious businesses. They claim love and togetherness, use their promises as bait, and then plunge innocent lives into the pit of endless persecution and sex slavery. Unsettlingly, the Global Slavery Index estimates that on any given day, there were 40.3 million victims of modern slavery in 2016 - a significant proportion of which can be attributed to such draconian practices (Global Slavery Index, 2016).

It's high time this narrative ends. We need to urgently address this horrendous situation, by pushing for stricter enforcement of laws on railway trafficking, and demand transparency from businesses claiming love and togetherness. This is not just about reducing numbers, this is about reclaiming thousands of lives out of the grip of insidious exploitation.
