Terminate and Fine Priority Waste in Michigan

Terminate and Fine Priority Waste in Michigan
The Issue
The streets of Macomb, Wayne, and Oakland County are beginning to smell, with trash piling up on our curbs as a stark reminder of the failure of Priority Waste to fulfill its obligations. Priority Waste's CEO, Todd Stamper, absorbed GFL with hundreds of non-working trucks, without a clear understanding of the enormity of the task or how to adequately run such an operation. This decision, driven by greed and lack of foresight, affects over 700,000 customers who rely on regular and efficient waste disposal services.
For over a year, our communities have endured constant issues with Priority Waste missing trash and compost collection on scheduled days. This recurring problem is not only a breach of contract but has severely impacted the quality of life in our neighborhoods. The ineffective service from Priority Waste has led to streets full of garbage, unpleasant odors, and health hazards, all while we are still expected to make full payments for a service we are not receiving.
Priority Waste is overworking its employees without providing incentives, yet, even under such conditions, they fail to deliver the essential services promised. Our patience has worn thin as we continue to suffer the consequences of this mismanaged service provider.
We call upon the local government of Macomb, Wayne, and Oakland County to take immediate action. We demand that Priority Waste be terminated as our privatized waste collector. In addition, they should be fined for every missed pickup, holding them accountable for their continuous failures and ensuring better service for our communities.
Join us in urging our representatives to prioritize our communities' health and environment by signing this petition. Together, we can push for the necessary changes to restore clean, efficient, and reliable waste collection services to our neighborhoods.
