Teramore Development LLC has started construction of a Dollar General on a small parcel of land next to Pitts School Elementary School, in the middle of our neighborhood. There was no notice to residents before construction began.

We believe that a Dollar General is not a good fit for our neighborhood. It is in very close proximity to an elementary school and the additional traffic is a safety concern for parents. Pitts School Rd is already overwhelmed with traffic. We are concerned what a dollar store will do to property value. We don't agree that a dollar store is necessary given the numerous grocery, pharmacy, and other dollar store options within a 5 mile radius. We don't agree that a commercially zoned site belongs on a stretch of road full of homes and two schools. Finally, we believe that as residents, we should have a say in what gets built in our own backyard.

City Council has stated that the property where the developer is constructing a Dollar General was already zoned as a commercial property, which means that the owner and developer did not have to come before council or Planning and Zoning to get this project approved. 

Say NO to Dollar General.
