Ms. Pamela Moses (a black Tennessee resident) was sentenced to six years in prison for trying to register despite a felony conviction but officials admitted making a series of mistakes.  She had confessed to committing a felony.  Residents of Tennessee who commit a felony may lose their right to vote.  However, Ms. Moses was told she was allowed to register to vote.  After she was registered she was arrested for voter fraud. 

While in other states four white men knowingly committed voter fraud and they were either given probation or one year in jail.
