Keep Old Spaghetti Factory on 2nd ave

The Issue

The Old Spaghetti Factory lost its lease after decades on 2nd ave in Nashville Tennessee. So many locals and tourists have many memories there. The new owners terminated their lease. Here is the release explaining what happened and why.
“LOFTS 160 NASHVILLE LLC, LANDLORD FOR THE OLD SPAGHETTI FACTORY DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE LOCATION TERMINATES LEASE AFTER CHRISTMAS DAY BOMBING
The Old Spaghetti Factory in Nashville ceased operations temporarily to rebuild and is willing to invest over 1 million to reopen but is being asked to vacate the space as a part of a lease termination by the landlord after 40 years of tenancy.
Nashville, TN – The Old Spaghetti Factory Restaurant located in downtown Nashville experienced detrimental building damage from the Christmas Day bombing that took place on December 25th, 2020.
During the walkthrough period and while both parties were assessing damages, The Old Spaghetti Factory’s landlord, LOFTS 160 Nashville LLC has sent to the company they are terminating their lease agreement after 40 years of tenancy and with 14 years remaining available for them to operate after investing millions into the space.
The Nashville Old Spaghetti Factory started in 1980 and had 56 active team members prior to the Christmas Day bombing in 2020. They would have rights to the space until the end of December, 2035 if the landlord didn’t terminate early. The Old Spaghetti Factory is not only willing, but able to bring the restaurant back to its original condition and restore this institution to downtown Nashville.
“We are incredibly disappointed by the letter sent by our landlord as they are using this tragic event to terminate our lease. Our restaurants and teams have endured the most challenging year, which was punctuated by the bombing. We hoped the Landlord would work with us, but they are making a business decision to have us removed. We now have to tell our team members that they may not have a place to work, which is very disappointing. I hope the City will get involved and let them know this isn’t right.” Said Dean Griffith, President of The Old Spaghetti Factory’s 41 unit chain.”
