Here they come again... Say NO to development on Mistley Place Park. 

The local community wish to protect and preserve our open spaces and maintain the historic character of Manningtree and Mistley for future generations to enjoy. 

Developers McCarthy and Stone have submitted plans to build and develop on a significant part of  this special parkland in Mistley.

The proposed planning application includes:

• An IMPOSING 2.5-storey apartment block with 42 flats. 
• A further 11 bungalows OBSTRUCTING views both to and from the River Stour - an AREA OF OUTSTANDING NATURAL BEAUTY. 
  

We want to STOP any residential development on Mistley Place Park which will permanently destroy the historic views across to the River Stour and from 'The Walls' towards Mistley.

We believe this 'Protected Open Land' should be left free from development in this important Conservation Area. This beautiful vista is an important 'Strategic Green Gap' between the villages of Mistley and Manningtree.

The surrounding views are now part of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, therefore this land should have the highest level of protection from development.

We urge Tendring District Council to listen to the community and refuse this application.
